Two Important Local Resources for Families

The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at the University at Albany (CARD Albany) is a resource center for families, educators, and community professionals. CARD Albany offers:
education and training for school personnel, families, and community professionals
comprehensive evaluations for autism spectrum disorders
ongoing research to improve the quality of life for individuals with autism
experiential learning opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students

Project Lifesaver Albany County

Project Lifesaver is a band attached to youth/adults who are non verbal or disabled with a communication disorder, multiply disabled, a medically fragile child who may elope, or a youth with Autism.
Caregivers can request enrollment information by contacting them at (518) 720-8023 or projectlifesaver@albanycounty.com.
Project Lifesaver is a program started in Albany County in October of 2013 to assist families in locating a loved one lost while wandering due to disease or special need.
